Brian would have been 46 today

Brian was born June 6th, 1967. Easy to remember as it was Canada's centennial celebration; I think my parents got a certificate of some kind. He was 35 when he went missing in Whistler BC; looks like the old web site still works though some of it is obsolete now.

There's been no news since his disappearance.

Happy birthday brother.

I'm glad you keep this site alive. I've been researching Whistler hikes, and the story you've shared of your brother is both touching and an important reminder of how very easy it is for something to go wrong.

I'm sorry for your loss. Know that by sharing his story, you've caused people like me to be much more cautious.

Thanks Kelly! Whistler country is beautiful, and also wild and vast. If going solo best to stick to trails and send someone reliable a route plan, return date. Same all wilderness. Have a wonderful time!

I'm a SAR volunteer in BC, joined around 2000.

I come across your site from time to time and it reminds me about the people who we search for, and the people we never find.

It's a very hard thing you have to deal with. When we search, we become a small part of that story, and we take on a small piece of that loss, but nothing compared to loosing a loved one.

I don't know if that makes sense or even matters, but I appreciate reading your site.

Thanks Michael -- I've been a fan of SAR volunteers ever since Brian's loss. I remember one guy saying "we've all taken chance, done things we shouldn't -- we understand". That helped me.

You do good stuff.
